Aosta Valley can be visited 365 days a year, practising winter sports, trekking, resting in high mountain or visiting the interesting historic town. You will enjoy the enchanting and magical surroundings that are created by the light, colours and hues that cover your way. A wide rage of sports can be enjoyed in its valley or on the Monte Rosa and in its valleys; the three valleys of Ayas, Gressoney and Valsesia are the centre of the largest ski resort of Italy. While in winter it is possible to enjoy cross-country skiing, mountain skiing and snowboarding, in the warmer months one can climbing, rafting, canoeing, hiking and mountain biking.
Punta Helbronner, in the north-west, is a magnificent terrace where you can take in the stunning views of glaciers the surrounding peaks.
Mont Fréty can be reached in cable car; here you can find the Natural Oasis, a wide area that protects numerous examples of mountain fauna; it houses the Saussurea Mountain Garden, one of the highest mountain gardens in Europe, with more than 900 plant species of wild flowers from Mont Blanc and other mountain ranges around the world.
In the warmer time of the year trekking enthusiasts will appreciate the Oasis’s paths, to appreciate nature and the fantastic landscape. To see mountains from an unconventional point of view, a flight in hot-air balloon is a thrilling and unique experience.
Aosta Valley also offers good wine and food. Wine trail are available to discover the different grape varieties that grow in sometimes harsh conditions.
