PUGLIA - TRULLI

Apulia offers both a rich historic or cultural heritage and enchanting sand beaches where to rest. The territory is dotted with castles and splendid borgoes boasting artisitic and architectural treasure from Magna Grecia to the Baroque period.

One of the most popular places of worship is San Giovanni Rotondo, in province of Foggia, where Saint Pio of Pietrelcina lived since 1916 till its death in 1968, in the monastery of Capuchin friars of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Here the great architect Renzo Piano has built a new church in 2004.

Alberobello represents one of the most famous locations; thanks to its typical stone houses with conical roof called “trulli” it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

PUGLIA - TRULLI

In addition to trulli, also Castel del Monte, in Andria has been added to the UNESCO site list. It is a unique octagonal Medieval castle, commissioned by Frederick II of Hohenstaufen, a real 13th Century masterpiece.

The heavenly archipelago of Tremiti, formed by the isles of San Domino, San Nicola, Capraia, Cretaccio and Pianosa, offers wonderful landscapes and unspoilt nature to discover.
